Delving in the MyHeritage's Resources and the new App

Last evening, my wife and I were looking at the resources available from MyHeritage.com, particularly the Newspaper Archive Collection from WorldVitalRecords.com. We were pleasantly surprised at the large number of newspaper article we found about my wife's father and my own father. The articles related a number of events neither of us had know anything about. In one instance, my wife learned that her father had a regular weekly radio musical show.

WorldVitalRecords.com lists a total of 22,336 collections and is growing rapidly. The Newspaper Archive Collection alone claims over 2.1 billion names. I have written about how important it is to search the newspapers and I guess I should follow my own advice.

While I was on the topic of MyHeritage.com, I also saw that there was a new update to their mobile device App. The new update makes it easier to add info at family reunions, libraries, photos and basically helps enhance your family tree wherever you are. The ability to edit your family tree compliments existing features: create a family tree from scratch, search for records, share photos and more.

Using the App, within seconds I had the FindAGrave.com entry for my wife's parents gravemarker. I have to admit I am getting a little bit overwhelmed with the amount of research generated by the MyHeritage.com Record Matches, at the moment I have 2,403 from my uploaded family tree. I have been wondering how I am going to process all this information and add it to my database. These are not just a bunch of false positives but the vast majority are real records that pertain to my family. These records include 474 matches to FindAGrave.com. Thinking about it, I would actually pay someone an amount equivalent to the cost of MyHeritage.com subscription just to have them look up everyone in my file and find 474 matches.
