New Certified Products Added to FamilySearch Lineup

in checking the Family History Partner Products pages on FamilySearch.org over the past week, I found quite a number of unannounced additions with some announced additions. If you study the list above, you'll see a number of changes from previous lists. Of course, the announced addition of Legacy Family Tree 8 to the list is significant. But there are several other programs now listed with complete collaboration.

The programs listed as new are as follows:
  • Web - FamilyMap, December 2013
  • Web - Puzzilla, December 2013
  • Android - Are We Related?, January 2014
  • Web - Family Photoloom, January 2014
  • Windows - Legacy Family Tree, January 2014
  • Windows - MagiCensus, January 2014
  • Windows - MagiTree, January 2014
Many of these programs have dates listed in January 2014 and some even in December 2013. However, I have been checking regularly in the list apparently was not update until quite recently. Considering the significant number of new to me program sign countered at RootsTech 2014, I am surprised that some of the new additions were not among those that I heard mentioned or saw as exhibitors at RootsTech 2014. Here are the summaries given by FamilySearch.org of the newer programs:

FamilyMap by Scoutic
FamilyMap for iPod, iPhone and iPad allows you to view the birthplace of the people you are related to on an interactive map. The application retrieves information about your ancestors from FamilySearch.org. You must have an account with FamilySearch to use this service. FamilySearch accounts are free at FamilySearch.org. An Internet connection is also required for this application.
I would note that FamilyMap is listed as a web app but it is actually a mobile app.

I will be commenting more extensively on this program, but here is the description from the FamilySearch.org website:
Looking for new relatives to take to the temple? Is your pedigree picked over? Is there really no work left for you and your family to do? The Puzzilla.org Descendants Viewer lets you see hundreds of descendant of your ancestors from an aerial view using compact symbols to reveal patterns of incomplete research. You can pick up where prior research left off. Click on a pedigree ancestor and Puzzilla will show you their descendants, revealing holes where research might uncover spouses, children, and generations of relatives waiting for you to find them.
Are We Related?
Find out if you are related to another person using FamilySearch. Each person will log into FamilySearch and the app will calculate whether the two people are related.
Family Photoloom
Family Photoloom is paving the way for a new generation of "image-enriched genealogy.” Purposefully designed for family historians, Family Photoloom is a free web application that makes it easy to tag and link pictures, cross-index family and extended relationships, and archive and share images with anyone you choose. There is no software to install or upgrade - Family Photoloom runs directly from your browser.
Legacy Family Tree
Legacy Family Tree is the FREE genealogy software to organize, research, and publish your family’s tree. Use Legacy to print maps, get research suggestions, collaborate with other family members, cite your sources, publish books and shareable CDs and much more.
Legacy makes it easy to work with FamilySearch and will measure your progress against the goals you set for temple work and more. Easily import from PAF and other programs. Get started today by downloading Legacy for free.
I will also be commenting on Legacy Family Tree 8 in the future.

MagiCensus
MagiCensus is a Windows-based genealogy software that opens, reads, and saves in the GEDCOM format. The new tool Census Tracker, helps you to easily extract and view census data for an entire family across many years in countries such as the US, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and the United Kingdom.
Use MagiCensus to easily take your existing information, or information extracted from a census and add it to FamilySearch, merge duplicate information, then reserve ordinances. MagiCensus merges GEDCOM files, standardizes place names, and helps you research by location, analyze census data, and generate HTML reports to share your research with others.
